From the global celebrity of Mickey Mouse that began in the Great Depression to the current popularity of the Disney princesses, the Disney studios have had a significant impact on the lives of children worldwide. What does it mean to “grow up” with Disney? What impact has Disney had in the last 90+ years on the evolution of childhood, modes of play, the toy industry, and the impact of mass media on children?
