7:0O PM - 9:00 PM

Why does making and sharing food play such an important role in keeping cultural traditions alive? Join three local scholars—each of whom has an upcoming book on food and cultural identity—for a discussion about how food makes us feel a part of communities, past and present. UVM’s Amy Trubek will share the stories of modern home cooks, Champlain College anthropologist Mike Lange will discuss his work on maple sugaring and Vermont identity, and UVM English professor John Gennari will explore the expressive cultures of Italian American and African American food and music.
