Milo (aka Scallops Hotel) first began rapping as part of the Kenosha, Wisconsin hip-hop trio Nom de Rap, which additionally consisted of rappers Nicholas J and AD the Architect. The group released their first joint mixtape, Greatest Hits Vol. 1, in 2010.
He released his first solo mixtape, I Wish My Brother Rob Was Here in 2011 & Milo Takes Baths was released in 2012. The song "Kenosha, WI" was published by Johns Hopkins University Press in a 2012 issue of the journal Postmodern Culture.
Milo released two EPs, Things That Happen at Day and Things That Happen at Night, in January 2013. The Cavalcade mixtape followed in July 2013 and in November 2013, he appeared on Hellfyre Club's compilation Dorner vs. Tookie.
He released Poplar Grove (or How to Rap with a Hammer) under the moniker Scallops Hotel in November 2013 and his first official album, A Toothpaste Suburb was released on Hellfyre Club in Sept 2014.
Milo's built a buzz over the last couple of years which grew immensely with the release of his sophmore LP, the critically acclaimed, Kenny Segal produced 'So the Flies Dont Come'.
Certainly his greatest achievement to date, it debuted at #1 on all of bandcamp and is still popping up on CMJ hip hop charts and getting plays at college stations across America, the album also defeated Kendrick Lamar, Lupe Fiasco, Vince Staples, Earl Sweatshirt, Dr Dre and Joey Badass to win the Rap Album of the Year tourney on massappeal.com.
So the Flies Dont Come also made best of lists over at Rolling Stone, Spin, Ghettoblaster Magazine, Boston Globe, Brooklyn Magazine, Passionweiss, Dead End Hip Hop and many more regional publications across the country.
Milo has toured the states relentlessly over the last few years as a headliner, with Hellfyre Club, as support to Busdriverr & Clppng in 2014 and Europe in 2016 with Open Mike Eagle.
After leaving Hellfyre Club, he signed to Alpha Pup Records and is distributed through The Order Label, Milo also continues to release projects by himself and comrades via his own imprint Ruby Yacht.
