Voices of Vermonters Publishing Group will launch two new books of poetry with live music, readings, and light refreshments on Saturday, Sept.26during the annual Burlington Book Festival.
Pushcart Prize-winner Daniel Lusk will read from his new collection The Vermeer Suite, inspired by the elegant and provocative paintings of 17th century Dutch painter Johannes Vermeer.
Alexis Lathem, a stunning new voice in poetry, will read from her book Alphabet of Bones—a collection born out of Lathem’s long engagement with the natural world–from the pastoral landscape to the arctic tundra, these poems trace the poet’s discovery of the luminous in the shadows of loss.
The readings will be accompanied by a fine art slideshow and a live jazz music performance.
Books will be available for purchase.
