Deerlady is Mali Obomsawin and Magdalena Abrego. On the duo's debut album Greatest Hits, we feel tremors and transformations in a perfectly-crafted universe of experimental shoegaze. In eight songs, we witness a precious softness that emerges from seas of rage and heartache – a throughline of hope that seems to flower over a bedrock of anti-colonial collaboration.

ALLISON BURIK'S REALM

Allison Burik‘s debut solo full-length Realm sees the multifaceted musician-composer blending a plethora of influences and approaches into an engrossing and mythologically informed whole, all inspired by women and non-binary characters throughout folktales, lore, and real-world history. Atmosphere is the clear driving force behind Realm; Burik superimposes textural phrases of alto sax and bass clarinet, threading in their limpid vocals, field recordings, subtle electronic treatments and even guitar.
