CINEMA CASUALTIES PRESENTS: BAD TASTE
EAT DRINK AND LISTEN. DINNER RESERVATIONS AVAILABLE HERE
After a couple months of winter hiatus Cinema Casualties is back on Wednesday, March 13th at ArtsRiot with a doozy of a screening, the movie that put Peter Jackson on the map, "Bad Taste"! Join us for all the wild, gore-soaked shenanigans that ensue when aliens invade New Zealand to collect human flesh for use in their intergalactic fast food chain. Only an elite group of Astro Investigation and Defense Services team members stand between us and extinction, so...ya know, here's hoping for the best. Jackson’s debut immediately established him as a DIY powerhouse, featuring him as writer, director, producer, star, cinematographer and special effects designer, amongst other things. It also set the tone for the irreverent sense of humor that would define his early career in subsequent films like “Meet the Feebles” and “Dead Alive.” “Bad Taste” is low-budget splatstick at its finest and, for once, a film that lives up to its name, so make sure you don't miss this exciting opportunity.
Cinema Casualties is a not-for-profit series dedicated to screening trashy, audience-friendly old-school horror movies, which seeks to bring people together as a celebration of the communal joy inherent in the film-going experience specific to the genre. The series has been running at ArtsRiot since July of 2015.
