6:30 PM DOORS
Sex, Birth, Parenting, OH MY. Join the Vermont Comedy Divas for a stand-up comedy showcase fundraiser for the Vermont Midwives Association.
The Vermont Midwives Association is community of professional homebirth and birth center midwives committed to serving families during the childbearing year. We promote the health and well-being of mothers and babies through comprehensive and compassionate care, public education about birth options, and the development of the midwifery profession.
This benefit show raises funds for the Vermont Midwives Association to further its goals in improving the quality of perinatal care; increasing access to midwifery care; promoting public education and awareness about the midwifery model of care; and creating educational opportunities for Vermont perinatal professionals.
DIVAS DO GOOD was started in 2013, by Josie Leavitt and Sue Schmidt as a way to connect hardworking comics with hardworking human service non-profit organizations. In its first two years, the Divas Do Good program saw the DIVAS traveling across New England and raising thousands of spirits and dollars for great causes.
The Vermont Comedy Divas were founded by Josie Leavitt in 2006 as way to showcase female comics. Since then, the Divas have performed all over New England for myriad groups and organizations including the Red Hat Society, Brain Cancer Research Foundation, Vermont Works for Women and the Women’s Business Owners Network. The Divas are the nation’s only all-female touring comedy troupe.
